Under the direction of Thierry Nazzi, I am interested in the role of prematurity in the acquisition of language during the first two years of life. We have focused our research on word recognition and phonological representation, particularly on speech segmentation processes: how do babies manage to extract and learn the words of sentences, or how do they manage to associate the words with the words? its corresponding to an image? For that we use two behavioral techniques, the eye tracking which allows to follow the look of the babies, and the method of the preferential listening (or HPP: Head-turn Preference Procedure).
