I am interested in studying how different factors interact during the first stages of language acquisition. The main focus of my project is to assess the basic auditory perception mechanisms of acoustic cues relevant for speech processing in young infants.
This work is organized around two main research lines: one investigating whether rapid auditory processing of the basic acoustic together attention /general cognitive abilities are correlated directly with later language outcomes. These measures are taken longitudinally with French infants between 9 and 24 months. Secondly I am also interested in exploring how the auditory mechanisms measured above feed into the acquisition of a basic grammatical feature of the native language: word order.
